Orpheus X author, composer, and performer Rinde Eckert is no stranger to playing many roles. For more than twenty years, he has written, composed, performed, and directed works in opera, dance, film, and new music theatre. His pieces have toured throughout America, and have been presented at major festivals in Europe and Asia.
Among his many honors, Eckert is the 2009 recipient of The Alpert Award in the Arts for his contributions to theatre, and finalist for the 2007 Pulitzer Prize in Drama for Orpheus X, in addition to many OBIE, Lortel, and Drama Desk awards and nominations. His work for the theatre has been produced by American Repertory Theatre, The Foundry Theatre, Culture Project, Center Stage in Baltimore, Berkeley Repertory Theatre, and others.
